MLF Paralegals Assist at AILA Citizenship Day

There’s a shared commitment to public service at the Murthy Law Firm (MLF), and this holds true for every member of our staff. Every week, in ways large and small, our team is giving back to the community, sharing their talents for the benefit of others.

A great example: MLF paralegals Kelli Sandilands and Brianna Seekford joined a dedicated group of volunteers to help lawful permanent residents apply for naturalization to U.S. citizenship. Their efforts were part of AILA Citizenship Day, held April 26th at the Esperanza Center in Baltimore, and at more than 50 other locations in 22 states and the District of Columbia. This year marked the 8th year of the program.

Under supervision from volunteer lawyers, Kelli and Brianna each helped long-term green card holders fill out their N-400 applications, and begin the end of their respective immigration journeys. By the end of the session, participants were able to take home a completed naturalization package, ready for mailing to the USCIS.

As in past years, the 2014 AILA Citizenship Day helped thousands of immigrants, nationwide, to file for citizenship, bringing their American dreams one step closer to reality. We are proud of Brianna and Kelli for contributing their free time to this worthy effort!
