MLF Attorney Assists at CASA de Maryland Citizenship Day

It was yet another example of our values in action: Brian Green, a supervising attorney at the Murthy Law Firm (MLF), took time out from the Memorial Day weekend to provide pro bono legal advice to aspiring citizens at a naturalization clinic sponsored by CASA de Maryland. The event was held on Sunday, May 25th at CASA’s local headquarters, on East Fayette Street in Baltimore.

The event served upwards of 40 applicants, mostly from Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. Volunteers from CASA – including several Americorps members – helped clients to prepare their N-400 citizenship applications, allowing each to leave with the forms complete and ready to file. As one of four volunteer attorneys present, Green reviewed the cases of applicants whose situations required professional legal analysis and advice.

Like many of his Murthy Law Firm colleagues, Green has assisted at several pro bono immigration clinics in recent years, for organizations ranging from the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), to Catholic Charities and CASA de Maryland. His generosity is emblematic of the public-service ethos that is woven into the fabric of the Murthy Law Firm.
