NewsFlash! January Visa Bulletin Offers Few Surprises

The January 2015 Visa Bulletin was released by the U.S. Department of State (DOS) earlier this evening. As expected, this month’s visa bulletin offers little relief for most foreign nationals hoping to become permanent residents of the United States. There is no significant movement in the family-based categories. The employment-based, second preference (EB2) category for China moves forward by one month, to February 1, 2010. Meanwhile, EB2 India holds steady, at February 15, 2005, and likely will not move before the summer. For the employment-based, third preference (EB3) category, there is a bit of good news. EB3 India crawls ahead by two weeks, to December 15, 2003. EB3 China moves up to March 1, 2011, while EB3 for all remaining countries of chargeability advances to June 1, 2013. MurthyDotCom will provide additional details and analysis regarding the latest visa bulletin in the near future.
