January 2015 Visa Bulletin

As MurthyDotCom readers were informed on December 9th, the U.S. Department of State (DOS) has released the January 2015 Visa Bulletin. The most significant change is in the employment-based, third preference (EB3) category for rest of the world (i.e. all countries, other than those that are oversubscribed).

Employment-Based, Second Preference (EB2)

The EB2 category remains current, with the exception of India and China. As anticipated, based upon DOS predictions, the EB2 India cutoff date remains unchanged, at February 15, 2005. This cutoff date is not expected to change before June or July 2015. The EB2 China cutoff date advances by a month, to February 1, 2010.

Employment-Based, Third Preference (EB3)

The EB3 ROW category jumps ahead by eight months, to June 1, 2013. This cutoff date is also shared by Mexico and the Philippines. EB3 China also advances by several months, to a cutoff date of March 1, 2011. As expected, EB3 India’s cutoff date advances only slightly, to December 15, 2003

EB3 Other Workers

The cutoff dates in the EB3, other workers category match those in the regular EB3 category, with the exception of China. China’s EB3, other worker cutoff date remains unchanged, at July 22, 2005.

Conclusion

The January 2015 Visa Bulletin does not contain any surprises or predictions for upcoming months. MurthyDotCom will continue to provide visa bulletin updates and reliable predictions, as soon as new information becomes available.
