NewsFlash! H1B Cap Reached for FY16

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced today, (April 7, 2015) that the H1B cap has been reached for fiscal year 2016 (FY16). The USCIS confirms receipt of filings in excess of both the 65,000 regular cap as well as the 20,000 advanced-degree exemptions (or, “master’s cap”).

The USCIS will move forward with their lottery process to select the cases that will be processed against the FY16 cap limits. The USCIS did not provide a count of the H1B FY16 cap cases received. They are also not yet able to provide a date for lottery completion, due to the volume of H1B petitions. Further information will be posted on MurthyDotCom as it becomes available.
