NewsFlash! Visa “Stamps” Completely Unavailable Worldwide

A technical failure at a U.S. Department of State facility in the United States has now resulted in visa “stamps” being unavailable worldwide. As a result of this technical failure, U.S. consulates are unable to conduct the required security checks of visa applicants – a legal requirement before issuing visas. This technical failure is not expected to be corrected until next week or later. As a result of this malfunction, many visa interviews are now being rescheduled, which will undoubtedly result in further delays once the technical issues are resolved.

Given the current unavailability of visa stamps, travel outside the United States should be avoided if one does not possess a valid visa.
