NewsFlash! Final STEM OPT Rule Released – Effective 10.May.2016

This morning, the final version of the revised STEM optional practical training (OPT) rule was unveiled. It will be published in the Federal Register on Friday, March 11, 2016 and will go into effect on May 10th. The rule will allow STEM OPT extensions of up to 24 months, replacing the current rule that allows for only 17-month extensions. The final rule also includes a number of reporting and oversight enhancements.
