Meet the Murthy Law Firm: Kevin Andrews

The dedicated team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff at the Murthy Law Firm is integral to our success. Day after day, they help to fulfill the dreams of our clients through their integrity, diligence, and commitment to excellence. To familiarize our readers with the dozens of individuals who come together to make our firm so successful, we periodically introduce one of our exceptional team members. This entry in our continuing series, Meet the Murthy Law Firm, shines the spotlight on attorney Kevin Andrews.

After graduating from college, Kevin made a brief foray into the mortgage industry. He enjoyed instant success and was nationally recognized for his impressive sales record, yet he found himself wanting more. “I felt like I wasn’t reaching my potential. I realized I needed something more interesting to keep me happy. Law school had always been in the back of my head, and I decided to go for it.” Kevin walked away from a lucrative career in the mortgage industry and enrolled in the University of Baltimore School of Law.

In his second year of law school, the Murthy Law Firm hired Kevin as a paralegal. Almost immediately, something clicked. “That’s when I really started to have fun; everything I was learning in law school, I could apply to the cases I was working on … I was always interested in international politics, and immigration law touches on that in a lot of ways.”

Kevin went on to earn his law degree, pass the Maryland State Bar, and move into the position of attorney with the firm. He is a valuable member of the Murthy legal team, and has drafted several articles related to immigration law, in addition to making numerous presentations at conferences for immigration attorneys on topics such as the employment-based, second preference (EB2) ‘exceptional ability’ category and complexities related to cap-subject H1B petitions.

After eight years with the Murthy Law Firm, Kevin still relishes the unique environment fostered here. “It’s great to get together with a bunch of people who embrace teamwork and service to others. It’s given me more perspective and made me more selfless – and it’s a huge amount of fun!”
