Fingerprint
Scheduling Problems at the Nebraska Service Center
Posted
Aug 19, 1998
The
Nebraska Service Center ("NSC") of INS has indicated that many
recent fingerprint scheduling notices for adjustment of status (final
green card processing) applicants have been incorrect. In particular,
some persons may have mistakenly been scheduled for printing at locations
more than 100 miles away from their residence. According to the NSC Center
Director, these notices can be ignored, and applicants can expect to receive
corrected notices during August 1998. The Service Center Director has
requested that those who do not receive corrected notices by September
15, 1998 inform the Center in writing.
The Law Office
of Sheela Murthy has noticed that several of the fingerprinting notices
suggested that the applicants for adjustment located in other regions
need to travel to the Baltimore INS Office for fingerprinting because
our Law Office is located in Maryland. We immediately notified the INS
of their error and the INS promptly corrected the problem and rescheduled
the fingerprinting location in a Center in close proximity for the convenience
of our clients.
