House
Passes Bill Proposing New Temporary Visa Program for Nurses
Posted
Aug 19, 1998
The
U.S. House of Representatives has proposed a Bill which would create a
new "H1C" program for registered nurses in locations designated
as shortage areas. Nurses must be either licensed in the country where
they earned their education or must have completed their nursing studies
in the U.S. They must have passed an appropriate examination or have a
state registered nurse license. Those who qualify based on an examination
must be eligible and qualified for state licensure. Should this new program
be enacted into law, the Law Office of Sheela Murthy will provide additional
information regarding eligibility for application and other details.
