Aron Finkelstein
Member
Managing Attorney

Aron A. Finkelstein is the Managing Attorney at the Murthy Law Firm. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Maryland and completed his law degree at the University of Baltimore.

Mr. Finkelstein began working in the field of immigration law while clerking at a downtown Baltimore law firm in 1995. He is an active member in the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). He has served on many of AILA's committees, including as Co-Liaison to the State of Maryland Department of Labor, the Federal Department of Labor Committee for Region II, the AILA Congressional Committee, as Vice Chair for the Education Committee, Chair of the AILA DC Chapter Department of Labor Committee, and as a member of the AILA DC Chapter Executive Committee. Mr. Finkelstein helped establish Murthy's Corporate Teleconference series and regularly participates on the panel to clarify employment immigration matters critical to companies. He advises clients via telephonic and in-person consultations, serves as a mentor, and is responsible for the daily management of the law firm.

Mr. Finkelstein has been awarded the high to very high rating for legal ability and very high for General Ethical Standards from Martindale-Hubbell. This prestigious award represents a level of ability acknowledged by his peers and signifies his professional ethics and conduct in caring for clients of the Murthy Law Firm. He is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Baltimore School of Law, teaching the Employment-Based Immigration Law course.

Mr. Finkelstein is a member of the Maryland State Bar, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Dana Delott
Senior Attorney

Dana Delott earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan, with a dual major in multi- disciplinary studies and political science in 1984. She earned her law degree from George Washington University, Washington, D.C. in 1988.

Ms. Delott has been practicing immigration law in the D.C. / Baltimore area since 1993 and joined the Murthy Law Firm in 2001. Her experience in the field of immigration and nationality law is broad, both in terms of clientele and practice areas. Her clients have come from every continent and have included a full range, from multi-national corporations to start-up companies and individuals from all educational and cultural backgrounds. Dana's experience includes business- and family-based immigration, citizenship, asylum, removal (formerly deportation), and waivers.

Ms. Delott was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1988 and the District of Columbia Bar in 1989.

Ms. Delott came to the practice of immigration law after work in a corporate law environment in the areas of legislative and antitrust. She selected this area of law practice as one that allows for assisting individuals without causing harm to others. She enjoys the diversity of the clients, the complexity of the law and the ever-changing nature of the practice area. Dana derives particular satisfaction from reuniting families and enabling worthy individuals to achieve their dreams.

Derek Sewall
Member
Supervising Attorney

Derek Sewall earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Latin American studies from Brown University in 1993. He earned his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law in 1998. Before joining the Murthy Law Firm in 2005, Attorney Sewall practiced corporate immigration law with a prominent immigration law firm in California, where he represented hi-tech companies in Silicon Valley. 

Before practicing immigration law in California, Mr. Sewall was an attorney with the largest law firm in El Paso, Texas, where he routinely represented clients before the U.S. Consulate in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. He has extensive experience with all types of immigrant and nonimmigrant visas. He contributed to the 2002-2003 edition of the AILA Visa Processing Guide. 

Derek is admitted to the Maryland Bar and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He is fluent in Spanish.

Jonelle Ocloo
Supervising Attorney

Jonelle Ocloo did her undergraduate studies at the College of William and Mary where she graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in International Relations. She earned her Juris Doctor from Yale Law School. While at Yale Law School, Ms. Ocloo was a student advocate in the Pro Bono Immigration Law Clinic and represented clients at asylum hearings.

Prior to joining the Murthy Law Firm, Ms. Ocloo worked for a law firm where she handled a variety of immigration matters including family-based, adjustment of status, and naturalization cases. She studied and worked in Japan for three years.

Ms. Ocloo is admitted to the Maryland Bar and the District of Columbia Bar. She is a member of the American Bar Association’s International Law Section, and the Organization of Women in International Trade (WIIT).

Jonelle's interest in immigration law stems from her personal experience as an immigrant from Ghana. She realizes the important role global migration plays in international trade and economic development. She loves the practice of immigration law because she is able to help individuals and families realize their dreams, while also making a positive impact on various communities that benefit from the infusion of new talent and cultural diversity. Jonelle speaks Japanese and is fluent in Ga, a native language of Ghana.

Pamela Genise
Supervising Attorney

Pam Genise earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Holyoke College and her Juris Doctor from the George Washington University Law School. During Law School, Ms. Genise was a student advocate in the Domestic Violence Clinic and focused her studies on international and family law. She was able to combine those two passions in the field of immigration law, which she enjoys because it allows her to mix complex problem solving with the opportunity to actively help people.

Prior to joining the Murthy Law Firm, Ms. Genise worked for a Washington D.C. law firm, where she handled a variety of immigration matters, including nonimmigrant work visas, employment-based cases (extraordinary ability, national interest waiver, multinational executive / manager transfers, and labor certifications), family-based cases, adjustment of status, and naturalization, as well as asylum and removal hearings. Ms. Genise is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Baltimore School of Law, teaching Business Immigration Law.

Pam is a member of the bar of the Supreme Court of Virginia.

Eunhae Gohng
Supervising Attorney

Eunhae Gohng earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, as well as her Master in Science degree in Special Education from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Ms. Gohng earned her law degree from the Washington College of Law at American University in Washington D.C. During law school, she worked as a law clerk at a litigation firm in Washington D.C. She was also a student attorney in the International Human Rights Law Clinic, where she assisted asylees from various countries.

Prior to joining the Murthy Law Firm, Ms. Gohng worked at a law firm in Virginia, where she handled a variety of immigration matters, including employment and family-based immigrant cases, nonimmigrant visa cases, adjustment of status, and naturalization. She was also involved with the firm’s pro bono work in assisting North Korean defectors seeking refugee and asylee status. Ms. Gohng’s interest in immigration law stems from her own experience as an international student from South Korea, as well as her experience in working with
defectors from North Korea. She realizes that, for many, securing legal immigration status is closely connected to fundamental rights and safety of individuals.

Eunhae enjoys the practice of immigration law because of its complex and challenging nature and also because she is able to assist individuals and families in establishing a foundation, in the form of legal immigration status, upon which they can realize their dreams and goals in the United States. She is admitted to the New York Bar, and she is fluent in Korean, spoken and written.

Alissa Klein
Supervising Attorney

Alissa Klein earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She then earned her law degree from the Tulane University School of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana. During Law School, Ms. Klein was a law clerk at the New Orleans Immigration Court, where she worked closely with the court’s clerk and Immigration Judges on various cases before the court. While attending Tulane University School of Law, Ms. Klein also contributed to and was an editor for the Journal of American Arbitration and worked with the law school’s child advocacy group.

Prior to joining the Murthy Law Firm, Ms. Klein worked as an attorney for an immigration law firm in Washington DC. There she handled an array of immigration matters. Ms. Klein worked extensively on nonimmigrant and immigrant employment-based cases, marriage- and family-based cases, adjustment-of-status applications, and naturalization. Ms. Klein also represented clients before the immigration court in removal proceedings and worked with clients on asylum cases. Alissa greatly appreciates the impact that immigration matters have on individuals’ lives and enjoys working with her clients to achieve their immigration goals. She is a member of the bar of the Court of Appeals of Maryland and of the DC bar.

Jessica C. Y. Lee

Supervising Attorney

Jessica C.Y. Lee earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Administration of Justice from The Pennsylvania State University. She then earned her Juris Doctor degree from Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Ms. Lee's career in the field of immigration law began as a paralegal for an immigration law firm. She then was employed in-house for the legal departments of two multinational companies managing and focusing on employment-based immigration cases. Ms. Lee then joined a nonprofit organization to assist no- and low-income individuals with their immigration matters; mainly family-based immigration and removal cases. Ms. Lee is admitted to the state and federal bars in New Jersey and is a member of the American Bar Association and the New Jersey State Bar Association. Ms. Lee speaks Mandarin and is fluent in Cantonese. She enjoys being active in the AsianAmerican community.

The ability to work effectively with clients seeking help with their immigration cases is important to Jessica, who has been through the U.S. immigration system herself. She is passionate about helping individuals and companies to navigate successfully through the complex system of U.S. immigration law, to realize their dreams and become successful, contributing members of society in the United States.

Ashley Barbone
Supervising Attorney

Ashley Barbone earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from Ohio University. She earned her law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. During law school, Ms. Barbone worked as a law clerk at an immigration firm in Cleveland, Ohio. She also completed an externship with the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, where she assisted attorneys with removal proceedings before the Immigration Judge. Ms. Barbone was a student volunteer with the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland at various immigration clinics.

Prior to joining the Murthy Law Firm, Ms. Barbone was providing legal services for solo immigration practitioners in Cleveland, Ohio, with a focus on family-based, adjustment of status, and asylum cases. She also represented clients in removal proceedings before the immigration court pro bono through the Legal Aid Society.

Ashley became interested in immigration law during her years of traveling and her experiences living in Mexico. She recognizes the challenges individuals face while trying to live and work in a foreign country and she is dedicated to helping them overcome those challenges. Ashley is admitted to the Ohio Bar.

Christopher Drinan
Supervising Attorney

Christopher Drinan earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Philosophy from Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts in 1993. He earned his law degree from Suffolk University Law School in 1996. He has practiced immigration and nationality law full-time since 1998.

Prior to joining the Murthy Law Firm, Mr. Drinan practiced at immigration law firms in Boston and in Las Vegas, Nevada. He has represented a wide variety of corporate and individual clients. He has experience in family- and employment-based immigrant petitions, nonimmigrant visa petitions, adjustment of status and consular processing, naturalization, waivers, asylum and removal defense.

Mr. Drinan has argued immigration cases in the federal District and Circuit courts, as well as immigration courts in a number of states. He is a member of the Massachusetts bar.

Kevin Andrews
Attorney

Kevin Andrews earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Towson University and completed his law degree from the University of Baltimore School. Mr. Andrews helped draft the curriculum proposal for the employment-based immigration law course taught by Mr. Finkelstein and Ms. Genise at the University of Baltimore School of Law. Mr. Andrews has been working in the field of immigration law with the Murthy Law Firm since 2007. Over the past several years, he has worked in our Special Projects and Green Card departments. From this, he has gained extensive experience working in a variety of complex and unusual immigration matters including compliance, litigation, advocacy, appeals, nonimmigrant work visas, employment-based cases, etc. He has also written several articles that have been published in our weekly eNewsletter.

Kevin’s interest in immigration law stems from his own family’s experiences as his mother immigrated to the United States from the Philippines, eventually becoming a naturalized U.S. citizen. Kevin understands the hardships and the complex nature of the immigration process and is committed to working closely with individuals and companies to ensure they receive the best guidance and representation in their immigration cases.

Kevin is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

James McLaughlin
Attorney

James E. McLaughlin earned his Bachelor of Science degree cum laude in Financial Management from Franklin Pierce University. He earned his law degree from Franklin Pierce Law Center, n.k.a., University of New Hampshire School of Law, Franklin Pierce Law Center for Intellectual Property. During his legal studies Mr. McLaughlin worked in Germany and studied International Human Rights in Berlin. He was also engaged as a law clerk with a large immigration firm in Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to joining the Murthy Law Firm, Mr. McLaughlin worked as an attorney for an immigration law firm in Massachusetts, where he handled a variety of immigration matters, including employment-based immigrant and nonimmigrant petitions, family-based immigrant petitions, adjustments of status, and naturalization.

Jim initially became interested in immigration law as a means to fostering human rights. This interest was then nurtured by the complexities of U.S. immigration law while planning his fiancée’s immigration to the United States. James is admitted to the Massachusetts State Bar.

Joel Yanovich
Attorney

Joel Yanovich earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English (Writing) from George Mason University. He subsequently was awarded a full scholarship to Loyola Law School Los Angeles, where he earned his Juris Doctor.

While in law school, Mr. Yanovich co-authored an article, published in the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review, which was later made part of the required curriculum for an Access to Justice Seminar at the University of Washington School of Law.

Mr. Yanovich, himself the son of two immigrants from Latin America, assisted his wife in obtaining her green card. He practiced in the area of immigration law at a firm in Los Angeles immediately following his being admitted to the California State Bar. Mr. Yanovich has represented a wide variety of clients, including family-based applicants, scientists, and employees of small smarts-ups and Fortune 500 companies. He speaks Spanish fluently.

Anupama Parameshwaran
Attorney

Anupama Parameshwaran received her Law degree from the University of Madras in Chennai, India. She also earned a Master of Laws degree from the University of Georgia at Athens, GA and is admitted to the New York State Bar.

Ms. Parameshwaran began work in the field of immigration law first as a legal assistant. She then worked as in-house counsel for an information technology company, focusing on employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant matters. Prior to joining MLF, she worked as a contract attorney for a law firm dealing with naturalization and family-based immigration cases.

Herself an immigrant, Anu has personal experience with the process. She understands what immigration means to our clients and enjoys assisting them with obtaining lawful status. She knows the challenges and is committed to providing guidance to individuals and companies. She is fluent in Tamil, an Indian language.

Adam Rosen
Member
Supervising Attorney


Adam Rosen earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History from Binghamton University, in Binghamton, New York. He earned his law degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, in Cleveland, Ohio, where he served as Managing Editor for Health Matrix: Journal of Law-Medicine.

Mr. Rosen began working in the field of immigration law as a law clerk in a private law practice in New York City. Upon admission to the bar, he remained in New York with a small law firm to practice immigration law. Attorney Rosen has represented clients applying for nonimmigrant visas and permanent residence. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, American Bar Association, and Maryland State Bar Association. Mr. Rosen also worked as law clerk for New York City’s Department of Homeless Services. He is admitted to the New York and Maryland Bars.

Adam entered the immigration law field to pursue his interest in assisting individuals in the critical and complex legal matters affecting their lives and understanding that immigration is the United States' foundation as a successful nation, able to draw on the contributions of its people.

Anna Stepanova
Supervising Attorney

Anna Stepanova received her Juris Doctor degree with special honors from the University of Iowa. She previously obtained two Bachelor of Arts degrees, one in Russia and another from the University of Iowa. She also earned a Master of Arts degree in Linguistics from the University of Iowa. While at the University of Iowa Law School, Attorney Stepanova represented clients in immigration proceedings and at asylum hearings.

Prior to joining the Murthy Law Firm, Ms. Stepanova was a founding partner of an immigration law firm in Iowa where she handled a variety of immigration matters, including employment- and family-based cases, as well as the areas of adjustment of status and naturalization.

Anna’s interest in immigration law stems from her own experience as an immigrant from Russia. She arrived as a visitor, changed to student status, worked as an H1B professional, and obtained permanent residency (her “green card”) through the National Interest Waiver process. Ms. Stepanova is fluent in Russian and is admitted to the D.C. Bar.

Brian Green
Supervising Attorney

Brian S. Green earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science from Washington & Jefferson College, in Washington, Pennsylvania. He earned his law degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, in Cleveland, Ohio, where he represented adults charged with criminal offenses through the Milton A. Kramer Law Clinic.

Mr. Green began his legal career as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Ernest J. DiSantis, Jr., in the Erie County, Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas. He then gained extensive jury trial experience while serving as an assistant public defender in Wheeling, West Virginia. Mr. Green next worked as a civil litigator and immigration attorney at a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania corporate law firm where he handled a variety of nonimmigrant, immigrant, and naturalization matters. He has also advised criminal and civil law attorneys on the immigration law ramifications of criminal convictions and noncompliance with U.S. immigration and labor laws.

Mr. Green has appeared in local, state, and federal courts in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. He is admitted to the Pennsylvania and West Virginia Bars. Mr. Green is often called upon to speak on immigration law and litigation topics and is a frequent contributing author to the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s bi-monthly magazine, Immigration Law Today.

Brian is proud of the United States' heritage of immigration, opportunity, and diversity. He believes that he can contribute to the success of our nation by facilitating the transition of immigrants and nonimmigrants into our society.
