Business Group's Ad Exhorts Congress to Pass H1B Legislation
Posted Aug 25, 2000

The broad-based business immigration coalition known as American Business for Legal Immigration (ABLI) is preparing to place advertisements urging the U.S. Congress to pass the pending H1B legislation. The advertisements, which will appear in the Washington / Baltimore edition of the Wall Street Journal, will emphasize the widespread support that exists for the pending bills, H.R.3983 and S.2045, and exhorts our Congress and the Administration to just do what needs to be done and pass the legislation.

Companies who support this legislation have the opportunity for their names to be placed on the advertisement. There would be no cost to the companies, since the advertisement is paid for by ABLI. If you are a company official or business owner and you want your company's name to appear on the advertisement, then the following information needs to be sent to AILA (one of the many member organizations of ABLI), by email to tbrown@aila.org, by August 28, 2000. Please note that only the company name will appear in the advertisement; the other information is needed by ABLI to verify that permission has been given to print the company's name.

Full Name of Company / Employer :

”There Are No Excuses -- Only Consequences

There is bipartisan agreement that the critical shortage of highly skilled technology workers is getting bigger by the day. The IT industry, the academic community, the Congress, the Administration...everybody agrees.

Yet, expanding the H1B program that is essential to keeping the technology driven economy growing has become a prisoner of government process. Everybody in government wants to do something but nothing is getting done.

It's time to finish the job. Congress and the Administration should enact H.R. 3983 and S. 2045. There are no excuses, only consequences...to the economy, to the high tech industry, to academic research, to America's competitive edge.

We at the Law Office of Sheela Murthy believe that this is a great opportunity to have an impact on important legislation that directly affects your business!
