I-140 Premium Processing Potentially Draws Nearer

Dr. Emilio Gonzalez, director of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) answered some questions through an online chat on the White House website on July 24, 2006. During that chat, there was a question regarding the premium processing of I-140 petitions.

Dr. Gonzalez replied that I-140 Premium Processing will be "rolled out in several stages." According to Dr. Gonzalez, EB3 I-140 Premium Processing may begin as early as August 2006. He confirmed that the USCIS will make an announcement on the date that premium processing will begin.

While this news is welcome for those in the EB3 category, it is disappointing that EB2s will not immediately enjoy premium processing. We at the Murthy Law Firm hope that the phase-in occurs fairly quickly, so that those in EB2 and EB1 can also enjoy the benefits of premium processing.
