Comprehensive
Immigration Reform Moving in Senate
Posted

The U.S. Senate will be reviewing the issue of Comprehensive Immigration
Reform (CIR) in March 2006. The Senate does not have a final version of a
bill and, at this time, it is unclear whether it will lean heavily towards
enforcement or if it will have true immigration reform provisions. The U.S.
House of Representatives passed a bill that does focus on enforcement. It is
doubtful that the Senate will pass the same bill.

At the Murthy Law Firm, we will continue to monitor this matter carefully.
As most MurthyDotCom and MurthyBulletin readers know, various
versions of immigration reform have been introduced over the years in the
House and Senate. Individuals and companies should be vigilant in commenting
on proposed immigration legislation, however, communicating with their
senators and representatives and calling for enlightened rather than
reactive changes in immigration law. Your voice can make a difference!
