Some CSC Cases May Have TSC Receipt Notices

The California Service Center (CSC) announced on May 9, 2005 that a limited group of nonimmigrant cases were inadvertently forwarded to the Texas Service Center (TSC). The affected cases are I-129 Petitions for Nonimmigrant Workers, filed in conjunction with I-907s, Applications for Premium Processing, on Friday and Monday, May 6 & 9, 2005. These cases were forwarded to the TSC due to a system problem at the CSC. The TSC will process these cases completely and issue final decisions on the cases. They will be given TSC receipt numbers, which are designated by a "SRC" prefix.

The TSC will also issue approval notices on some other premium processing cases that were filed recently at the CSC. This is also due to the system problem. These cases will have both the original WAC receipt numbers from the CSC and SRC receipt numbers from the TSC. These files will not be transferred to the TSC, however.

Even if the CSC normally has jurisdiction over the cases, the CSC confirmed that the approvals and denials from the TSC will be valid.

We at The Law Office of Sheela Murthy are pleased that the CSC has announced this temporary change in normal procedure to avoid the confusion that undoubtedly would occur otherwise when receipt notices, RFEs, approval and/or denial notices are issued from the TSC instead of the CSC for those affected. This announcement should reduce the confusion for concerned individuals.
