Several Weeks Estimated until H-1 Cap
Posted
Sep 21, 2004
The most
recent official information from the USCIS about the H-1 cap is that, as of
September 20, 2004, the H-1 cap numbers for Fiscal Year (FY) 2005 are
expected to remain available for several weeks. The reason for this is that
some of the numbers allocated for Singapore / Chile were recaptured and made
available. Previously, only 58,200 of the total 65,000 cap numbers were
available to all. The rest were reserved under Free Trade Agreements with
Singapore and Chile.
Regardless, the cap is quite close. People with cap-subject filings need to
move quickly to get their cases in before all of the FY2005 numbers are
used.
