Address Changes for Re-Issuance of Visas by DOS
Posted Feb 05, 2000

Many of you contact the Law Office of Sheela Murthy with information on processing the visa reissuance at the U.S. Department of State (DOS). Recently, the address for submission of documentation for a nonimmigrant visa reissuance (formerly called revalidation) through the DOS has been changed.

The new address for postal mail is as follows :

US Department of State/Visa
P.O. Box 952099
St. Louis MO 63195-2099

For courier services, the address is now :

US Department of State/Visa (Box 2099)
1005 Convention Plaza
St. Louis MO 63101-1200

If the DOS requests certain additional information on applications previously submitted, then the address to send the additional information is :

Department of State
CA/VO/P/D
2401 E Street, N.W.
Room L-701
Washington, D.C. 20522-1016

Further information and instructions on the visa reissuance process can be found at the Visa Office website, http://travel.state.gov. The Law Office of Sheela Murthy believes that if a person already has an H1B or L1 visa stamp in the Passport, it is safer to have the visa reissued at the DOS, rather than standing in lines outside certain consulates at 3 A.M. to obtain a new visa!
