Participate Effectively in Immigration Discussion Boards
Posted May 11, 2001

Many Internet sites have discussion boards on a variety of subjects, including immigration. For example
, the website for the Cable News Network, has an immigration discussion board. Unfortunately, at cnn.com and other sites, anti-immigration restrictionist group members have been actively participating and expressing their anti-immigrant sentiments. This is your opportunity to also participate and counter some of those views.

Don't let anti-immigrant advocates dominate the debate. Make your views known by also participating
intelligently on important topics to educate the public. Describe how immigration benefits the U.S., by bringing in the best and brightest from around the world to share their talents with all of us.

Some of the questions currently being considered at cnn.com are:
  • What are your views on an open border policy between Mexico and the U.S.?

  • What effect will shifting demographics have on the U.S.?

  •  How do you feel about the new laws?

Many MurthyBulletin readers are especially well informed about the second and third issues above. So join in, and encourage your friends and employers to participate in an effective manner to help the news media disseminate accurate information and help our politicians to enact better immigration laws.
