H1B LCAs Backlogged!
Posted Jan 04, 2000

While there is a mad rush to file H1B Petitions to beat the H1B cap, the two main centers of the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) which certify the Labor Condition Application (LCA) which is required in order to obtain an approval of the H1B Petition, are backlogged and down! Please note that the LCA for the H1B process is often incorrectly confused by many with the Labor Certification process for obtaining the green card. The two are quite different.

Both the Philadelphia LCA Faxback and the San Francisco LCA Faxback System have been experiencing problems and delays.

The DOL hopes and believes that they will be back in full swing on Tuesday, January 4, 2000.
