2009 Annual Conference of AILA and AILF's Immigrant Honorees Posted Jun 05, 2009 ©MurthyDotCom This week the American Immigration Lawyers Association is holding its annual conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. Several attorneys from the Murthy Law Firm will attend and some, including Attorney Sheela Murthy and Attorney Khorzad Mehta will speak at the conference. There will be many useful meetings and discussions with senior officials of the USCIS, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), the U.S. Department of State (DOS), the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and other government agencies. The purpose is to exchange information in an environment of learning and understanding for meaningful discussions and to advocate for our clients and for positive changes in immigration. ©MurthyDotCom On Friday evening, June 5, 2009, the American Immigration Law Foundation (AILF) will hold its annual benefit gala to showcase the benefits of U.S. immigration and to celebrate the accomplishments of immigrants to America. The honorees this year are Carlos Santana from Mexico, Grammy-winning guitarist, humanitarian, and founder of the Milagro Foundation, and Cirque du Soleil from Canada, with performers from every circus discipline, street performance, and "thousands of employees and technicians, originators, costumiers, props designers, accountancy acrobats, marketing jugglers and management trapeze artists who travel the planet, developing our evolving mission as creators, performers, and global citizens."
