The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced on July 11, 2007 that the California Service Center (CSC) has resumed issuing Form I-797s (Approval Notices). CSC had earlier indicated that it had problems with the issuance of these approval notices due to technical difficulties. According to the USCIS's announcement, all I-797 Approval Notices should be sent to affected customers by July 20, 2007.

Those who have not received notices by July 20, 2007, and whose cases have been approved, may submit an inquiry by eMailing CSC at CSC.NoNotice@DHS.Gov. In order to be certain that a case has, in fact, been approved; one may go to the USCIS WebSite and check the case status online, entering the case number found on the initial Form I-797 Notice of Action (receipt notice).
