H1B Lottery Starting April 12, 2007 Posted Apr 13, 2007 ©MurthyDotCom As the MurthyBulletin was headed for publication, it came to our attention that the USCIS announced today, April 12, 2007, that the H1B random number generator would run on April 12th. This number generator is the process of random selection of the regular H1B cap cases filed on April 2nd and 3rd, to determine which ones will receive the cap numbers. This process is commonly referred to as the lottery. ©MurthyDotCom This information was released at an AILA conference, by the USCIS Associate Director for Domestic Operations, Michael Aytes. Since the lottery is being held on April 12th, no regular H1B cap cases can be adjudicated before April 13th. It was not clear from the notice exactly when adjudications will start.
