The U.S.
Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) had indicated that, as of
October 1, 2006, Forms G-325, G-325A, G-325B, and G-325C would have to be
submitted using the July 14, 2006 versions of these forms. Members of the
American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) had expressed concern that
software programs may not be updated with the new forms by October 1, 2006.
As a result, the USCIS has agreed to accept the old versions through the end
of October 2006.

We at the Murthy Law Firm recommend that individuals who need to file G-325s
use the new versions of these forms even during the month of October 2006,
to avoid any potential confusion or delays. [Clients of the Murthy Law Firm
can rest assured that our proprietary software,
Immigration
Matters! TM,
has been updated with the new forms.] G-325s are filed with certain
petitions or applications, including I-485 applications for adjustment of
status. Many applicants rely on the pending I-485 application to obtain
permission to remain in the United States. If one has no other status, and
the application is rejected because the wrong G-325 is used, remaining
legally in the U.S. may not be possible, and this is likely to delay the
work permit and other incidental immigration benefits.
