The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced in early August 2006 that it has closed the Hurricane Katrina eMail account at the Texas Service Center (TSC). The special eMail ID had been established so that persons affected by Katrina could quickly provide updated address information to the USCIS, in order to continue receiving correspondence on any pending cases. Since eMails were last received for that account in May 2006, however, the USCIS has decided to close it.

Nonimmigrants and green card holders are required to file Form AR-11 within ten days of relocating or changing addresses. In addition, those who have pending applications with the USCIS should call the National Customer Service Center and report their new addresses to ensure that particular information has been updated in the USCIS database with respect to the pending application/s.
