The USCIS announced on April 10, 2007, that, as of April 3rd, they had received 12,989 cases toward the fiscal year (FY) 2008 advanced-degree H1B cap. This means that all advanced-degree filings made on April 2nd and 3rd will have a cap number available. The USCIS is still sorting and counting cases received after April 3
rd; thus there is no information as to the total count to date.

The premium processing procedure is working for the advanced degree cases, as we at the Murthy Law Firm received our first FY2008 advanced-degree approval on April 11, 2007. This Friday's (April 13, 2007) issue of the MurthyBulletin will carry more information on how the USCIS is handling premium processing for the regular cap cases.
