After wonderful news in the June 2007 Visa Bulletin, when there was significant forward movement in the cutoff dates for the employment-based second preference (EB2) and the employment-based third preference (EB3) categories, there has been an unprecedented jump in almost all of the EB preference categories, which are now current! The only exception is the "Other Workers" category, which is currently unavailable. The definitions of these EB categories and the implications of the movement of priority dates are available in various articles available on MurthyDotCom.

This substantial forward movement of EB immigrant visa numbers is unexpected. Many people whose priority dates have not been current for years will now be able to file their I-485 Adjustment of Status (AOS) cases, and many pending I-485/AOS cases and consular processing (CP) cases are potentially eligible for approval while the priority dates remain current.
