A bipartisan group from the U.S. Senate announced on June 15, 2007, that
they have agreed to revive the comprehensive immigration reform (CIR) bill,
Senate Bill 1348 that many feared had been put to rest the week prior! Most
likely the bill will be debated before the end of June 2007.

Both the Democrats and the Republicans from this bipartisan group realize
that the only way that the bill could be resurrected was if each party
limits its amendments to ten to twelve, instead of the hundreds of
amendments previously offered for this bill.

It is wise for employers and all those affected to contact your legislators
soon to voice your concerns, so that they consider supporting comprehensive
immigration reform during the final vote: first in the Senate and, if it is
passed in the Senate, then in the House of Representatives.
