Director Named for New TTIC
Posted Mar 28, 2003

The Terrorist Threat Integration Center (TTIC) is scheduled to come into existence on May 1, 2003. John O. Brennan has been named as the first Director of TTIC. The President announced the creation of TTIC in his State of the Union Address in January 2003.

TTIC's purpose is to ensure that all concerned government departments share terrorist-related information so that, for example, information gathered by the agencies in the U.S. Department of Justice will be given to the various bureaus in the Department of Homeland Security. Hopefully, TTIC will be able to facilitate faster immigration background checks, which now require the transmission of information between the FBI and the BCIS prior to granting any immigration-related benefits.

The creation of TTIC is another security component added by the administration since the attacks of September 11, 2001. National security is of concern to all of us living in the United States. While expanding and developing defense of the homeland, there is a continuing need for attention in the areas of immigration benefits, important to eligible individuals longing to contribute their talents and to the U.S. businesses who need them.
