            <description>Some of the options for making changes to the basis of a permanent resident (&quot;green card&quot;) case after reaching the adjustment-of-status (I-485) stage are addressed here for the benefit of MurthyDotCom and MurthyBulletin readers. Specifically discussed is interfiling, also referred to as conversion, utilized when an I-485 applicant wants to change the underlying immigrant petition that will serve as the basis of the I-485 approval. Also provided is guidance as to when this strategy can be beneficial, as well as the eligibility criteria for interfiling a new or different immigrant petition into a pending I-485 application. </description>

            <title>Supreme Court Considers Arizona Law - S.B. 1070</title>
            <description>The U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments on the constitutionality of portions of Arizona&apos;s controversial immigration law, S.B. 1070, on April 25, 2012. As many MurthyDotCom and MurthyBulletin readers are aware, S.B. 1070 was partially blocked on April 11, 2011 by a federal appeals court. Thereafter, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to hear the case. Both the Petitioner and Respondent filed briefs and the matter was set for oral argument on April 25, 2012.</description>
