Meet the Murthy Law Firm: Karen Goldcamp

The dedicated team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff at the Murthy Law Firm is integral to our success. Day after day, they help to fulfill the dreams of our clients through their integrity, diligence, and commitment to excellence. To introduce our readers to the dozens of individuals who come together to make our clients and our firm successful, we periodically present one of our exceptional team members. This entry in our continuing series, Meet the Murthy Law Firm, shines the spotlight on scheduler Karen Goldcamp.

Karen began her professional career at the age of 24 when she got a job handling dormant accounts in a large local bank, and she recalls how office life was a lot different in the days before technology. “There were no computers when I started. Everything was done on paper. I had stacks of form letters, and we used a typewriter to fill in the name and address and all the other information…we didn’t even have voicemail at that point. We got our messages on those little pink ‘while you were out’ pads.” Karen enjoyed a 17-year tenure at the bank, until it went through a series of mergers.

Karen joined the Murthy Law Firm in 2005, where she now serves as a client scheduler. In this position, Karen often gives our clients their first impression of the firm, a responsibility that she takes seriously. “You have to handle the clients gently, with kid gloves, because they have fears and anxieties, and they are looking to us for help with their lives. This is their life! You really have to empathize with them.” It’s easy for Karen to offer a warm, caring energy to clients, because she feels like she’s in a supportive environment every day when she comes to work. “I work with great people, and we all get along, and there’s always someone to talk to. I have to pinch myself sometimes that I work with such lovely people.”
