Join us for Virtual AIC Gala on May 6, 2021

The American Immigration Council (AIC) is having its virtual gala the American Heritage Awards on May 6th at 8:00 p.m. (Eastern Time, U.S.), as mentioned in our MurthyBlog, Murthy Law Firm Sponsors AIC’s 2021 Heritage Awards. You will listen to storytellers like Edwidge Danticat and PJ Pereira who share how their affirmative, positive storytelling talents unite people and help them find common threads of connection. This promises to be an uplifting event with inspiring honorees, a hilarious host of IndianAmerican background, Vijai Nathan, and musical entertainment. And, for the first time, this event is open to a wide audience beyond the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) membership. You will join Sheela Murthy and other Murthy Law Firm attorneys and staff, as well as many AILA members at the virtual gala.

Creative Writing Contest Sponsored by MurthyNAYAK Foundation

A special segment will be dedicated to the Creative Writing Contest, which is a program very close to our heart. The MurthyNAYAK Foundation is honored to support this program through a multi-year pledge. The contest challenges fifth graders across the country to reflect on and write about a theme such as: “Why I Am Glad America Is a Nation of Immigrants.” The contest is held by region and each first place winning entry is sent to nationals where the American Immigration Council announces the winner in June. It is a fantastic contest and we are so pleased the Council is including the story of the contest itself in their event.
