Among AILA’s Most Popular of 2013 is Article by Murthy Attorney Stepanova

Murthy Law Firm attorneys make frequent and important contributions to the advancement of legal knowledge, and by doing so, have earned the respect of their professional peers throughout the immigration law community. A recent example is Murthy Law Firm attorney Anna Stepanova’s article, Enjoying the Fruits of One’s Labor: Navigating F-1 Status, listed as one of the nine most popular articles published in AILA VOICE in 2013. [See The Most Popular VOICE Articles of 2013, AILA InfoNet, 08.Jan.2014.] Stepanova’s article describes the most common pitfalls that can lead to problems for foreign students in the U.S., such as enrolling in less than the full-time study required to maintain F-1 status, taking too many online classes, or taking curricular practical training (CPT) without meeting key requirements as to the timing and integral nature of the training to the student’s curriculum.

The article originally appeared in the July / August 2013 edition of AILA VOICE, a publication sponsored by the nation’s most prestigious professional organization for immigration lawyers, the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association (AILA).

Stepanova is a Supervising Attorney in the Murthy Law Firm’s Special Projects department, where she handles unusual matters that arise in appeals, litigation, and compliance work. She was recently elected a Member of the firm, a select group that includes the firm’s most senior attorneys. Stepanova is an active member of AILA, and frequently shares her extensive knowledge of business and student immigration, in print as well as at professional conferences.
