USCIS Reminder: New Fees Take Effect November 23rd

As reported to followers of the MurthyBlog in September, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will change filing fees for immigration paperwork – increasing most fees by an average of ten percent – effective November 23rd. (See USCIS: New Filing Fees Take Effect November 23rd, 29.Sep.2010.) USCIS is reminding the public that the new fees must accompany all “applications or petitions postmarked or otherwise filed on or after” November 23rd, “or they will be rejected.” (See New Application and Petition Fees Go Into Effect on November 23, 2010, USCIS Press Release, 29.Oct.2010.) The USCIS press release features a chart of the new filing fees, and complete details of the revised fee schedule are available in the original Federal Register notice (PDF, 234KB) that announced the changes.
