Murthy Law Firm Attorney Ocloo is Honored for Citizenship Day Work

Jonelle Ocloo, Supervising Attorney in the Murthy Law Firm’s Green Card Department, chaired the 2012 AILA-DC Chapter’s Annual Citizenship Day event. Citizenship Day is a day on which immigration lawyers around the country hold simultaneous pro bono legal clinics to help eligible permanent residents file for U.S. citizenship. Jonelle organized a team of volunteer immigration lawyers and coordinated with local nonprofit and community organizations to put on Citizenship Day event in eight locations throughout Maryland, Washington D.C., and Virginia. A number of lawyers and paralegals from our firm were among the volunteers. At this year’s Citizenship Day event, held on April 21, 2012, Jonelle and her team of volunteer attorneys were able to help more than 300 people apply for U.S. citizenship.  For her efforts, the AILA-DC Chapter has recognized her as Chairperson of the Year. Congratulations, Jonelle!
