Happy Indian Independence Day!

August 15th is Indian Independence Day, a celebration of India’s birth as a modern nation, when the colonial yoke finally was lifted. Though India saw her share of hardships in the early years, recent decades bear the unmistakable marks of progress. For the millions who held fast to their faith in India’s future, few could have predicted where India would be today: an emerging leader in high technology and a destination of choice in a competitive global economy.

As India continues to move forward, striving to realize the goals of her forbearers, we celebrate how far she has come – a modern nation with roots as ancient as the earth and a future as boundless as the stars.
