Murthy Law Firm Celebrates the Holiday Spirit
19 Dec 2012The room was alive with laughter and conversation when the Murthy Law Firm gathered for our annual holiday party on the campus of Stevenson University. It was an evening of feasting and fun and fellowship, celebrating this season of light and hope and generosity.
Founder and President, Sheela Murthy, welcomed everyone in attendance to the celebration and humbly thanked us for our work – throughout the year – to put our clients’ needs first. Even as the economy struggles to gain steam, Sheela said, our firm has been blessed with another successful year of helping others to attain their American dream – one of living and working in the United States, contributing to our culture, economy, and history. This success depends upon the unique gifts and talents of each employee of our firm, she said. Managing Attorney, Aron Finkelstein, echoed Sheela’s sentiments in his own upbeat and good-humored address.
Following a sumptuous buffet dinner, the evening’s hosts, Attorneys Jim McLaughlin and Jonelle Ocloo, introduced the Second Annual MLF Awards and Talent Show, featuring songs, skits, standup comedy, and even Flamenco dancing – all performed by members of our staff – and opening with an exhibition of photographs by Vasant Nayak (Director of Operations and Marketing, and Sheela’s husband), taken during his travels around the world, and accompanied by an original soundtrack of Indian music. Sheela also presented awards for Best Spirit (Receptionist, Karen Goldkamp), Client Service (Client Services Assistant, Allissa Smith), Community Service (Paralegal, Katrina Abarcar and Attorney, Kevin Andrews), and Unsung Hero (Office Assistant, Angela Mayo), all selected by their colleagues for recognition.
Lastly, Sheela and Vasant were honored for their dedication to our clients and for making the Murthy Law Firm such a wonderful place for the more than 80 of us who work here. Led by Jim McLaughlin and accompanied by Mike Esposito (Paralegal) on guitar, we all went to the front and serenaded them with a heartfelt rendition of The Rainbow Connection. Sheela then donned her Santa hat and personally thanked each one of us in turn for our dedication and for being a part of the Murthy Law Firm family. It was a delightful celebration, full of good cheer and the best spirit of the season.
Happy Holidays to all of you from all of us at the Murthy Law Firm!
