NewsFlash! USCIS Conducts H1B Lottery

On April 7, 2013, the USCIS announced that approximately 124,000 cap-subject H1B petitions were received during the first week of April. This includes cases filed under both the regular 65,000 H1B cap limit and those requesting the 20,000 advanced-degree cap exemptions (Masters’ Cap).

The USCIS held a lottery on April 7, 2013 to select cases for adjudication. The results of the lottery selection have not yet been made available to the public, however, the numbers released indicate that the USCIS will adjudicate more than two-thirds of the filed petitions.

More information on the H1B cap and the lottery selection process will be available in upcoming articles on MurthyDotCom.
