Murthy Judges 2013 Ernst & Young EOY Awards in Maryland
17 Jul 2013In 2009, Murthy Law Firm founder and president, Sheela Murthy, was inducted into the elite company of leading entrepreneurs in the U.S. She was honored as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year (EOY) for the vision, creativity and drive she showed in founding a world-class immigration law practice, right here in Owings Mills, Maryland. Every year since, Murthy has been invited to serve as a regional judge, to help choose the next crop of Ernst & Young EOY nominees.
As a judge of this year’s competition, on June 26th, Murthy attended the Ernst & Young 2013 EOY Awards Dinner at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront, an elegant gala celebrating the achievements of a very exceptional group of Maryland’s businesswomen and men. Murthy served with a distinguished panel of business leaders to decide who should receive this highly prestigious mark of achievement.
It is a great honor even to be nominated for this award. According to Ernst & Young, in order to qualify, a nominee must be: (1) the owner – and/or manager – of a private or public company, (2) the person primarily responsible for the recent and stellar performance of the company, and (3) an active member of top management. It then falls to the judges to decide among this very select group of nominees. In turn, Maryland’s award recipients are nominated for the national Ernst & Young EOY competition.
We join Ms. Murthy in congratulating all of this year’s Entrepreneur of the Year nominees, and the honorees in each category. You have good reason to be proud!
