Jewish Community Services Honors Murthy Law Firm

For the past four years, the Murthy Law Firm has helped Jewish Community Services (JCS) to find employment for clients of its career services program. That assistance was gratefully acknowledged at the JCS annual meeting on June 17, 2013, when Murthy Law Firm founder and president, Sheela Murthy, was presented with its Employer Partnership Award.

As a faith-based nonprofit with deep roots in Baltimore, JCS offers an array of social services to help with life’s challenges. Among them, JCS sponsors parenting programs, helps families to achieve financial stability, promotes emotional wellbeing, and assists job seekers through its Career Center.

The JCS Career Center provides comprehensive job search services to help everyone – adults, teens, and people with special needs – to find and maintain employment. It offers career coaching, assistance with resume writing, interview skills training, and a large, free database of current job postings, submitted by employers who appreciate the opportunity to help their businesses while helping others. The Murthy Law Firm has hired JCS clients, and often sends vacancy announcements to the JCS Career Center.

The Murthy Law Firm’s collaboration with the JCS is of a piece with Sheela Murthy’s deep commitment to giving back to the community in her beloved and adopted hometown of Baltimore. This is truly a “win-win” for everyone involved: the JCS, its clients, and the Murthy Law Firm!
