Update on USIBC Teleconference: Murthy Clients & Potential Clients May Register!

We announced last week, the Murthy Law Firm is teaming up with the U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC), and the Indian law firm of J. Sagar Associates to present a one-hour teleconference, designed to familiarize employers with compliance issues that may arise when recruiting and employing foreign nationals – a practice that’s increasingly common in cutting-edge industries, where leading companies often hire from the global talent pool.

The teleconference, Immigration Compliance: What Your Company Needs to Know, will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2014, from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time (U.S.), 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Indian Standard Time.

By special arrangement with USIBC, Murthy Law Firm clients and prospective clients may now participate in this exclusive event! See below for registration information.

Murthy, founder and president of the Murthy Law Firm, will discuss the complex regulatory environment facing companies that want to hire the world’s best and brightest, regardless of their nationality. Together with her firm’s managing attorney, Aron Finkelstein, Murthy will address key strategic and tactical moves that can protect businesses from compliance issues.

“We live in an age of global competition,” says Murthy, “so U.S. companies naturally are looking for top talent, worldwide: researchers, inventors, and innovators who can keep their companies ahead of the curve. The problem is, the regulatory framework hasn’t kept up with the needs of a modern high-tech economy, and the level of regulatory complexity can be daunting to employers – especially now that the U.S. government has increased its scrutiny of overseas hiring. Almost every day, there’s another story in the news about a U.S. company that’s under investigation, or facing a government audit of its foreign employee hiring practices. We want to help employers to meet the burdens of compliance, so they can stay focused on their core business.”

Representatives of J. Sagar Associates will discuss the compliance questions confronting Indian companies that would like to hire overseas talent to work in India.

The conference is open to Murthy Law Firm clients and prospective clients, and to members of the USIBC, the premier business advocacy organization for U.S. companies doing business in India, and vice versa. USIBC’s aim is to strengthen bilateral trade and investment between the two countries, and its members include the Murthy Law Firm, and a host of multinationals that are household names around the world, like Microsoft, FedEx, Tata Group, and Coca-Cola. Those who wish to participate – USIBC members AND Murthy Law Firm clients and prospective clients – may register online
