Embracing, Educating and Empowering Young Artists

Maryland Institute, College of Art (MICA is) a renowned art school in Baltimore, Maryland that will be celebrating its 200-anniversary in 2026. The institution provides unique education focusing on molding young artists to hone their skills and become successful. MICA provides several hundreds of jobs and a strong community in Baltimore city.

Sheela Murthy has been on the board of Trustees for the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) since 2018. Her experience as a lawyer, and a leading business leader in the region, helps to provide guidance and vision for MICA, at this critical time both for the country and for MICA celebrating such an important milestone.

Research shows that children who can focus on their creative skills and talents, can bloom and blossom to become successful in almost any endeavor in life, whether in business, science, arts, or the humanities. Believing in this, Sheela Murthy, has provided support to MICA to ensure that we can commemorate it’s 200th anniversary to showcase. It’s history while paving the way for the future to continue impacting the world for the next 200 years and beyond.
