Travel Reminder

Your Passport should be valid for 6 months after your status expires. When traveling to the U.S. in a status with a certain expiration date, such as H1B, H4, O1, O3 L1, L2, etc., pay attention to your Passport’s expiration date. CBP will cut short your status end date to match your Passport’s expiration and not your Approval Notice or Visa. Commonly, travelers forget to check the online I-94 at CBP.gov for their status expiration date. If your I-94 at CBP.gov expires without you realizing what happened, it might start as an inadvertent gap. Unfortunately, a small mistake like this can bring devastating consequences, including ineligibility for status or a Green Card and being barred from getting a visa or entering the U.S.
