NewsFlash! H1B Cap Count Rises: Fewer than 9,000 Cap Numbers Remain!

The USCIS H1B cap count had reached 56,300 as of November 14, 2011. This means that there are fewer than 9,000 cap numbers remaining out of the 65,000 limit for fiscal year 2012 (FY12). As expected, the rate of filings has increased in the past month, in response to the anticipated depletion of the FY12 cap numbers.

Cap-subject H1B filings can continue until the cap is reached. The advanced degree or “masters” cap exception filings reached the 20,000 mark previously. The 2012 H1B cap count is available on the USCIS WebSite, and a link is provided on MurthyDotCom. The USCIS typically increases the frequency of updated cap counts as the end of cap filing season nears.
