B-1 in Lieu of H1B

The B-1 visa category is generally for those seeking entry into the United States to engage in temporary, business-related activities that do not involve the performance of day-to-day work duties.  The B-1 in lieu of H1B visa category, however, allows individuals to enter the United States temporarily, to perform duties related to their foreign employment.  This lesser-known and frequently misunderstood category has come under increased scrutiny due to alleged misuse.  We address this controversy, as well as the legal requirements of the B-1 in Lieu of H1B visa, in our article, B-1 in Lieu of H1B – Will this Useful  Category Survive.
