My employer extended my H1B status for a 7th year based on a pending PERM case. If we now withdraw the PERM case, would this void my H1B extension?

Answer:

The employer can withdraw a PERM filing at any time. If an H1B extension has been approved based on that pending PERM case, and then the PERM case is withdrawn after the H1B approval, the H1B should remain valid. However, a new qualifying PERM or I-140 case would be needed for any subsequent extensions. (27.Jan.2014)
