I am in H1B status, but am going to apply for a COS to H-4 and an EAD. Can I keep working in H1B status until I get the EAD?

Answer

It is not necessary to stop once the H-4 COS/EAD filings are submitted. But, it would be necessary to stop working after the COS to H-4 is approved until the time the EAD is issued. It is still unclear how much of a gap there may be between the H-4 COS approval and the EAD issuance. (06.Apr.2015)
