Sheela Murthy Inspires Fellow Attorneys at Professional Networking Event

This week, Murthy Law Firm president and founder Sheela Murthy served as a panelist at the annual Professional Success Summit, which is sponsored by the American Bar Association (ABA). This year’s summit was held in Atlanta, Georgia, and focused on celebrating diversity in the legal field. Scores of litigators from around the country gathered to network, exchange career advice, and participate in a variety of seminars and workshops.

The legal profession is among the least diverse professions in the nation. The ABA, however, is working to make the field more diverse. So, it was only fitting that Sheela – a woman and a minority – was invited to participate in a discussion panel entitled, “The Mechanics of Starting Your Own Practice.” During the panel, Sheela shared the inspiring story of how she founded the Murthy Law Firm (formerly known as the Law Office of Sheela Murthy) in 1994, growing her practice from a tiny shared office to one of the most in-demand and highly-ranked immigration firms in the world. Her passion for immigration law was fostered in part by the frustrations she experienced firsthand when she emigrated from her native India to the United States. Sheela founded the Murthy Law Firm to help other talented, hardworking immigrants navigate the complex world of immigration law.

Sheela is always excited to share the story of her success as a way to inspire fellow attorneys to make an impact in their communities. By participating in networking events such as the Professional Success Summit, she hopes to “pay it forward,” and encourage others to make their dreams come true!
