NewsFlash! DOS Announces Temporary Closure of Twenty-Two U.S. Consulates

On August 2, 2013, the U.S. Department of State (DOS) issued a Travel Alert, warning U.S. citizens of “the continued potential for terrorist attacks, particularly in the Middle East and North Africa, and possibly occurring in or emanating from the Arabian Peninsula.” To that end, the DOS released a list of twenty-two U.S. embassies and consulates in this region that will be temporarily closed for security reasons on Sunday, August 4. As of the time of this writing, these posts are all scheduled to reopen the following day. The Murthy Law Firm will continue to closely track this story.
