My petition to change from L-1 to H1B was approved. How long can I stay with my L-1 employer before I have to move to the H1B employer?

Answer

The H1B petition has a starting date. That is when one is supposed to start working for the H1B employer. I am assuming that the H1B was approved with a change of status (I-94). There may be a bit of flexibility with respect to the actual starting date after the H1B approval date. But, what is not permitted is working for the L-1 employer after the effective date of the H1B change of status. (26.Oct.2015)
