NewsFlash! Government Shutdown Averted Through Dec 16th

Congress approved a spending bill this afternoon that will fund the federal government’s operations through the evening of Wednesday, December 16, 2015. President Obama is expected to sign the bill into law later this evening.

This bill delays a possible government shutdown, at least for a few days. The bill further extends the regional center (RC) program of the employment-based, fifth preference (EB5) investor visa category through Wednesday. The hope is that this will give Congress sufficient time to work out a compromise on a long-term spending bill, in addition to an extension of the RC program.
